 An Adverb is a word that modifies a:

Verb (He runs fast.)
Adjective (She is very smart.)
Another Adverb (He drives very slowly.)
Adverbs tell:
How, When, Where, How often, How much, In what manner etc.
📗 TYPES OF ADVERBS
1️⃣ Adverb of Manner (How?)
Usually ends in –ly
Examples:
slowly, quickly, bravely
She sings beautifully.
Exceptions (no -ly):
fast, hard, late, near, early
Example:
He works hard.
2️⃣ Adverb of Place (Where?)
Examples:
here, there, everywhere, outside
He lives nearby.
3️⃣ Adverb of Time (When?)
Examples:
today, yesterday, soon, now, before
He will come tomorrow.
4️⃣ Adverb of Frequency (How often?)
Examples:
always, never, often, seldom, usually
She always arrives early.
5️⃣ Adverb of Degree (How much?)
Examples:
very, too, enough, almost, quite, extremely
She is very intelligent.
6️⃣ Interrogative Adverbs
Examples:
When? Why? How? Where?
7️⃣ Relative Adverbs
Examples:
where, when, why
This is the place where I was born.
8️⃣ Adverb of Affirmation/Negation
Examples:
yes, surely, certainly, no, not
He will surely win.
📙 POSITION OF ADVERBS
Rule 1: Frequency Adverbs (always, never, often, etc.)
Placed before the main verb
He always helps others.
Placed after “be” verb
She is always happy.
Rule 2: Adverbs of manner
Usually placed at the end
He spoke politely.
Rule 3: Adverbs modifying adjectives/adverbs
Placed before them
She is very beautiful.
He runs extremely fast.
📘 DEGREE FORMATION OF ADVERBS
Some adverbs change form:
fast → faster → fastest
hard → harder → hardest
early → earlier → earliest
Adverbs ending with –ly use more, most
quickly → more quickly → most quickly
